Psalm 24 (Psa 24:1) A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. This is the most comforting thought that when all is said and done, not matter how bad things look, the earth is the Lords. He is returning to claim the earth back and restore it to what it was before the fall of man. I cherish the thought that God is still in control. Things are going crazy all over the earth right now. Violence, murder, rape, torture and civil unrest. In our own country (USA) we have abortion, homosexuals trying to marry to become legitimate, lack of respect for the word of God and no fear of God in the land. It looks bleak for the Christian who is trying to live in holiness. Yet what a comfort the Psalms are in reminding us that God still knows all about us and everything is going to work out for the good of all who trust in Him for their salvation. (Psa 24:2) For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. The Psalmist reminds us of who the creator is and who made the earth. (Psa 24:3) Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?(Psa 24:4) He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. There is hope for all in this passage, for through faith in Jesus Christ we now have access to the Spirit of God who will come to dwell within us when we place our faith in Jesus Christ. He will then enable us to have clean hands, a pure heart, no deceit and not follow after vanity. Before Christ we did these things, having no power to overcome them. Faith in Jesus Christ makes a change. Old things pass away and all things become new. (Psa 24:5) He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.(Psa 24:6) This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. All those that seek the Lord will be rewarded with God's presence in their lives now and eternal life in the future. Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Repent means to change or turn around. Repentance is a doctrine of the Old Testament and the New. We need to repent of sin before we can be saved from sin through faith in Jesus Christ. (Psa 24:7) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.(Psa 24:8) Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. (Psa 24:9) Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. (Psa 24:10) Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. This is I believe a preview of the coming of Jesus Christ literally. He is returning. When many start to think the Lord delays His coming, than He just may come. When some may assume the Second Coming is not a literal coming, He just may come. -Dorna Luk 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
